About Lapland
Introduction:
Beneath the mysterious Northern Lights, this beautiful region of Finland is the ultimate winter destination. Perfect for experiencing Lapland's attractions; our fabulous packages range from fun-filled day trips to longer stays in cosmopolitan Rovaniemi, traditional Yllas or scenic Levi. A wonderland of adventures, from dashing across the snow by reindeer sleigh to meeting the real Santa Claus, Lapland's magic and excitement is endless.

What to wear
Dressing Guide

In the frozen landscapes of Lapland, where temperatures can drop below -20ºC, keeping warm is essential.

We provide everything you need to keep snug and cosy in the snow; with a one-piece thermal suit, thermal boots, thick socks, gloves, mittens, a scarf, a balaclava and a hat available to all guests while on their Lapland holiday.

When dressing in the morning, remember to wear plenty of layers, rather than one thick item, apply oil-based moisturiser and lip blam to stop your skin drying out and pack spare clothes, in case you get wet playing in the snow!

Please note: Guests with special size requirements for boots or clothing must inform us at the time of booking.
Water-based moisturisers freeze in the cold temperatures

Snowsports
One of Lapland's top attractions, exhilarating snowsports include snowmobile adventures across white landscapes, fast husky dog sleigh rides and ice fishing on frozen lakes. With some of Finland's best ski centres, all our resorts are near downhill slopes and beautiful cross-country skiing trails, with trekking and skiing ideal ways to explore the Lappish wilderness.

Food & Drink
Warm campfires and cosy restaurants offer great dining, serving traditional cloudberry pancakes and glowfried salmon, cooked by the shimmer of a fire. Our resorts also provide international restaurants, while hot berry juice and gingerbread are ideal for warming cold hands after days in the snow.

Twinkling Nights
Surrounded by myth and magic, Lapland's icy night skies are often filled with dazzling displays of blue, green and red; the famous Northern Lights, Aurora Borealis. For those lucky enough to witness this beautiful natural phenomenon, unique to the Arctic and caused by distant solar events, it is an unforgettable experience. Cosy family evenings can be spent aroung campfires and glowing log fireplaces, while Levi and Yllas have a relaxed après-ski scene and Rovaniemi provides clubs and bars.

Presents
Traditional gifts include colourful woollen four-wind hats, berry jams, candles, trinkets carved from curly birch wood and cuddly toys of all Lapland's beautiful wildlife. With shopping centres in Rovaniemi, gift shops in all our resorts and souvenir stores in many attractions featured in our itineraries, including SantaPark and Santa Claus' Village, there are plenty of opportunities for Christmas shopping.
