Christmas Past - Christmas Present
On this special day visit to Lapland, adults' fond childhood memories will be invoked, and younger members of the party will have the opportunity to be enthralled as they enjoy the spirit of Christmas in our private lakeside setting known as Karhunpesa (The Bear's Den).

Your day will commence with your flight from your chosen airport to Rovaniemi Lapland, which will be approximately 3 hours 30 minutes duration. Breakfast will be served on board. Where possible aircraft with on-board video entertainment facilities will be used and where airlines and crew co-operate there will be a traditional Christmas sing a long. Arriving in Lapland in fine fettle you will be transferred by coach to a beautiful and private setting by a lakeside which has been a holiday home to many distinguished guests including an American President. Warm overgarments and boots will be provided on loan for the day to protect against the cold.
There will be at your disposal a welcoming range of activities including horse drawn sleighs, reindeers, huskies and snowmobiles and a range of other snow based activities including snowmobile sleigh rides, tobogganing and ice fishing. Of course a major highlight of the day awaits, an individual family meeting with the great man himself, when of course the children can discuss their letters and special wishes for the Christmas season. As a finale why not enjoy our short ice and snow show culminating in a firework display.
At our typical street market of old, there will be displays of making traditional Lappish items associated with Christmas. Here too you will be able to enjoy snack treats associated with Christmas including marshmallows to roast over the fireplace, hot chestnuts and potato wedges from the brazier. Of course a more substantial offering in the form of a vegetarian or meat paella with hot soups, and the delight of fresh pancakes prepared over an open fire remain to be enjoyed. An additional surprise must be the opportunity to meet Mrs. Claus and enjoy gingerbread biscuits and warm mince pies. To celebrate you can drink back the non alcoholic version of Gloggi, a traditional Finnish Christmas drink, or of course enjoy the hot chocolate and berry juice that is always available throughout the day.
This surely is a very special day visit to a unique private location used by heads of state and many international VIPS, where adult memories of Christmas past will be relived and enjoyed and where children will have a fabulous time in a very exciting location where they will meet Santa Claus.
From our street market you will be able to purchase a host of souvenirs of Lapland. We will provide you with a lasting souvenir of your visit certificates commemorating your activities with the reindeers, huskies and snowmobiles. Dinner will be served during your inbound flight.

How to price your day trip
Price categories A,B,C,D,E are shown for 2 of our day tours. This pricing is similar to those utilised by airlines. Price A represents an advanced purchase tour which is bought and paid for in full (less a £1 per person balance due 6 weeks prior to departure date to validate our standard booking conditions) at the time of reservation and only remains available whilst space is available in that fare bucket. It offers the least expensive option but involves total loss of monies paid in the event of cancellation (insurance is strongly recommend it). Where category A remains available (the least expensive, but with full prepayment required) and alternative category will always be shown in case you prefer to pay a deposit only on the tour. As a general guideline, the earlier you book, the lower the cost. So if you expect to travel early bookings are strongly recommended. Bookings made a few days prior to travel will likely attract the highest pricing category of all. |
