This is the most northerly of Lapland’s resorts, in a white wilderness of hills and snow-laden forests 200km north of the Arctic Circle. Here in Santa’s spiritual home, the call of the untouched wild makes Saariselkä unforgettable.

At night, gaze skyward for a glimpse of the unforgettable Northern Lights. Here, 200km north of the Arctic Circle, you are more likely to see them than anywhere else!

And there is plenty to do Saariselkä. The Holiday Club leisure complex, with its superb swimming-pool, spa and games facilities, is open to all Esprit guests, and the new mini-shopping mall houses traditional craft and gift shops and a small local museum. There are bars and restaurants for a warming drink, or sample a local speciality – differently flavoured ice-cold vodkas!

Saariselkä is home Santa’s tribe of Saari Elves, a hardy, energetic outdoor bunch, whose ears and noses don’t grow so long as their cousins in Rovaniemi, due to the time they spend outdoors, playing in the snow.
