Setting off on Boxing Day is just the beginning of your Festive Legends short break with Transun. There is so much included. From a husky dog sledge experience to quality family fun in the snow, from a snowmobile adventure to a Festive Dinner, your three-night break is filled with magical experiences. Here is a typical itinerary.
December 26
Collect your special boarding pass at your check-in in the UK and keep it safe! Your flight departs around 10am and at Enonetekio you are guided to your coach. The journey to Hetta takes around ten to 15 minutes. Watch out for reindeer in the woods!
Temperatures here can fall to -35C in December and we stop to collect your all-in-one thermal suits and boots, an essential part of your holiday package. Hats, scarves and gloves are also necessary, so remember to pack some for everyone!
After checking in at your chosen accommodation, your Transun rep hosts a welcome meeting, giving you all the information needed to get the most from your break and during a welcome dinner your rep will answer any further questions. Tonight, you can join one of our optional activities, such as a snowmobile night safari, perhaps hoping to encounter the Northern Lights.
December 28
After breakfast, you board the coach to head out on your first included Santa safari, either a 40-minute Husky Experience or a 1.5-hour Snowmobile Adventure, followed by a warming buffet lunch at the hotel.
Throughout the day you can enjoy snow activities outside, with toboggans available free of charge and kick sledges available upon payment of a deposit. Or, if you prefer, there's plenty of family fun to be had making snowmen or enjoying a good old-fashioned snowball fight!
Alternatively, you might opt to join the inside craft activities, or maybe try one of our exciting optional excursions, such as trying your hand at reindeer herding.
This evening join us on a walk to the local church. After a short welcome by the local vicar and carol singing, you return to your accommodation for dinner. Then relax, or join one of our optional night safaris. You might see the Northern Lights.
December 29
After breakfast, you board the coach and set off for your special Supervised Snow Fun. This is a day of supervised activities that include a Snowshoe Trek (like walking on tennis racquets!), Snowball Throwing Contest, Tandem Skis (two people on one pair of skis ... with hilarious results) and Children's Skis, Snowman Building, Tug-of-War, Snow Hockey, and lots more! In addition, there will be a supervised kids' snowmobile ride. A hot lunch will be provided.
Then, the highlight of the day. With your special boarding pass, we set off by snowmobile, before you join Santa's own reindeer sleigh in search of Father Christmas. During a private family meeting in his log cabin, each child has the chance to talk with Santa and receives a small gift.
Later, enjoy a Festive Dinner at your hotel, with party hats and streamers. After dinner, why not join us on an optional Northern Lights husky safari?
December 30
Check out after breakfast, before taking the coach to your last Santa safari, a 40-minute Husky Experience or a 1.5-hour Snowmobile Adventure, which ever you did not join on day two. There should be time for one final play in the snow or to join one of our optional excursions, perhaps reindeer herding. After a hot lunch, we depart for Enontekio and our flight home.

The festive season is a good time to visit Father Christmas in his own magical kingdom of Lapland. After the pre-Christmas rush, things are quieter in Lapland and it is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy some quality family time together, soaking up the wonderful atmosphere of Europe's last unspoiled wilderness as you set out into the magnificent snowscapes for a range of snow activities. After all that Christmas pudding and over-indulgence, it is exhilarating to be here, in the clean crisp air, surrounded by magnificent nature, enjoying a host of winter fun activities while working off those excess calories. And, what's more, Santa has not set off on his hols yet and he will be happy to chat with you now that all his hard work is over.
