Celebrating the arrival of a New Year will be just a part of your New Year Magic short break with Transun. There is so much more included. From tobogganing to snowman making, from a snowmobile adventure to a husky experience, your three-night break is filled with magical experiences. Here is a typical itinerary.
December 30
Collect your special boarding pass at your check-in in the UK and keep it safe! Your flight departs around 10am and at Enontekio you are guided to your coach. The journey to Hetta takes around ten to 15 minutes. Watch out for reindeer in the woods!
Temperatures here can fall to -35C in December and we stop to collect your all-in-one thermal suits and boots, an essential part of your holiday package. Hats, scarves and gloves are also necessary, so remember to pack some for everyone!
After checking in at the Davvi Arctic Lodge, your Transun rep hosts a welcome meeting, giving you all the information needed to get the most from your break and during a welcome dinner your rep will answer any further questions. Tonight, you can join one of our optional activities, such as a snowmobile night safari perhaps hoping to encounter the Northern Lights.
New Year's Eve
After breakfast, you board the coach to set off for your first included Santa safari, either a 40-minute Husky Experience or a 1.5-hour Snowmobile Adventure, followed by a warming lunch.
Throughout the day you can enjoy snow activities outside, with toboggans available free of charge and kick sledges available upon payment of a deposit. Or, if you prefer, there's plenty of family fun to be had making snowmen or enjoying a good old-fashioned snowball fight!
Alternatively, you might opt to join the inside craft activities, or maybe try one of our exciting optional excursions, such as trying your hand at Reindeer Herding.

his evening, enjoy a New Year Celebration at your hotel, complete with paper hats and streamers.
New Year's Day
After breakfast, you head outside to board the coach for your special Supervised Snow Fun. This is a day of supervised activities that include a Snowshoe Trek (like walking on tennis racquets!), Snowball Throwing Contest, Tandem Skis (two people on one pair of skis ... with hilarious results) and Children's Skis, Snowman Building, Tug-of-War, Snow Hockey, and lots more! In addition, there will be a supervised kids' snowmobile ride. A hot lunch will be provided.
Then, the highlight of the day. With your special boarding pass, we set off by snowmobile, before you join Santa's own reindeer sleigh in search of Father Christmas. During a private family meeting in his log cabin, each child has the chance to talk with Santa and receives a small gift.
This evening, join us on a walk to the local church. After a short welcome by the local vicar and carol singing, you return to your accommodation for dinner. Later, why not join an optional Northern Lights Husky Safari?
January 2
Check out after breakfast, before joining the coach for your last included Santa safari, a 40-minute Husky Experience or a 1.5-hour Snowmobile Adventure, whichever you did not join on New Year's Eve. There should be time for one final play in the snow or to join one of our optional excursions. After a hot lunch, we depart for Enontekio and our flight home.

Santa may be reading his holiday brochures after his busy December, but he will still have time to chat to any intrepid parents and children who pay him a visit in Lapland as the New Year gets underway. In fact, after celebrating the arrival of the New Year in style, you will be able to venture out into the majestic snowscapes of this Arctic wilderness to enjoy a wide range of snow activities before setting out in search of the grand old man himself. Above all, your New Year short break will be a wonderful opportunity to spend some quality family time together in the exhilarating surrounds of this magnificent winter wonderland. It will be a New Year that no one is likely to forget in a hurry.
