Your private family meeting with Santa is the highlight of your Polar Legends short break with Transun. But there is so much more included. From sledging to snowman making, from a husky sledge experience to a wonderful Festive Dinner, your four-night break is filled with wonderful, magical experiences. Here is a typical itinerary.
Day One
Collect your special boarding pass at your check-in in the UK and keep it safe! After an early flight to maximise your time in Lapland, you land in Kiruna in Sweden where you are guided to your coach. The two-and-a-half-hour transfer to the Davvi Arctic Lodge in Karesuando, Finland, takes you through the heart of the Sami lands. Watch out for reindeer in the woods!
Temperatures here can fall to -35C in December and we stop to collect your all-in-one thermal suits and boots, an essential part of your holiday package. Hats, scarves and gloves are also necessary, so remember to pack some for everyone!
After checking in at the Davvi Arctic Lodge, your Transun rep hosts a welcome meeting, giving you all the information needed to get the most from your break and during a welcome dinner your rep will answer any further questions. Tonight, you can join one of our optional activities, such as a snowmobile night safari, hoping to encounter the Northern Lights.

ay Two
One of the joys of the Davvi Arctic Lodge is that the majority of your outside activities conveniently take place outside in the delightful grounds. After breakfast, you will head out on your first safari - either a thrilling 40-minute Husky Experience or an exhilarating 1.5 hour Snowmobile Adventure, followed by a warming buffet lunch at the hotel. Throughout the day you can enjoy snow activities outside, with toboggans available free of charge and kick sledges available upon payment of a deposit. Or there's plenty of family fun to be had making snowmen or enjoying a good old-fashioned snowball fight! And there's even an outdoor ice rink, with skates available for youngsters to hire.
This afternoon, each family can decorate a gingerbread house, with a prize for the best. Or head out either for some more snow fun or one of our optional excursions, perhaps reindeer herding. Before dinner, there is a host's cocktail reception. Then relax or join one of our optional activities.
Day Three
You'll experience your second safari after breakfast, either a 40-minute Husky Experience or a 1.5-hour Snowmobile Adventure. And you can head outside for more snow fun. Fancy visiting another country this evening? Join us on a walk to the local church, on the other side of the border, the most northerly church in Sweden! After a short welcome by the vicar and carol singing, we return to the Davvi Arctic Lodge for a host's cocktail reception before dinner. Then perhaps join one of our optional night safaris.
Day Four
After breakfast, you head outside for our special Supervised Snow Fun. This is a day of supervised activities that include a Snowshoe Trek, Snowball Throwing Contest, Tandem Skis and Children's Skis, Snowman Building, Tug-of-War, Snow Hockey, and lots more! In addition, there will be a supervised kids' snowmobile ride. Lunch will be provided at your hotel, with hot drinks available outside throughout the day. Afterwards, you might join Mrs Claus's Christmas Crafts class making party hats and streamers for the Festive Dinner. Or, relax in the Sami Lounge. Then, the highlight of the day. With your special boarding pass, you join Santa's own reindeer sleigh in search of Father Christmas. During a private family meeting in his cabin, each child has the chance to talk with Santa and receives a small gift. This evening, perhaps have a drink in Davvi's unique Ice Bar. Later, enjoy a Festive Dinner, with party hats and streamers. After dinner, why not join us on an optional Northern Lights husky safari?
Day Five
Check out after breakfast. Then we set off on one final adventure, a Wilderness Treasure Hunt! Alternatively, you have time for one last play in the snow or you could join another optional excursion. After lunch at the hotel, we depart for Kiruna and our flight home.
Imagine the scene ... you're here at last! The door to the snow-topped cabin opened, you stepped inside ... and there, to your children's obvious delight, is Father Christmas, waiting to greet them! There are no queues, or sharing the moment with other families. Just you can your family and the grand old man himself. The setting could not be more magical. The log cabin is warm and cosy with a lovely Christmas tree, plentiful decorations and piles of intriguing presents.
