From Lapland to Mauritius - Luxury Holidays in one Snow or Surf

Granted, Lapland in Scandinavia and Mauritius do not have a lot in common. One lies in the tropics and the other near the top of the world, but each has its charms. In the case of Lapland, it has one of the most famous residents of the world, Santa Claus, in addition to a winter wonderland, skiing and snow boarding. Lapland is definitely a unique travel experience, but so is Mauritius. It is a polar opposite - no pun intended - from Lapland. On the island of Mauritius you can enjoy a snow and reindeer free vacation surrounded by tropical forest, crystal clear water, colourful marine life and all the amenities that luxury holidays have on offer. When looking for a luxury resort make sure to look for one that offers both sophisticated yet contemporary architecture with an ambiance that it purely tropical.

While in Lapland everything will look quite Scandinavian, but since Mauritius was a French colony at one point look out for the island's colonial accents and touches. In addition to deluxe accommodation on the island you can find all the special pleasures that resorts provide like spas, golf courses, concierge service and a pool side bar and even private small wading pools just outside your hotel room's en suite patio. Imagine waking up, having breakfast delivered to your room and only having to step outside your room into your very own pool, now that's what I call all inclusive. In Lapland you have to first march through the snow to get to the pool.
